Strategic pricing for specialist retailers
The most strategic price, on every product.
Perfect Competition tracks your competitors’ prices and tells you the best move on every product: match when it pays to, hold when it doesn’t, and raise when the market moves up. Act on the advice yourself, or let it update prices for you within your rules.
Free audit. No cost prices needed.
The problem
Most pricing rules only know one move.
Match everything, give away margin
Following every drop means following a competitor’s weekend promotion or clearance, even when everyone else holds.
Match nothing, lose the sale
When the market really has moved, holding out costs you sales on the products that matter most.
Nobody checks when to go up
Prices get cut and rarely get raised. When competitors move up, the margin sits there until someone notices.
How it works
Reactive when it pays. Proactive when it counts.
- 01
Map your range
Send us your product list. We match each product to the same item at every competitor you name, by brand, model and part number. You confirm the ones that need a human eye.
- 02
Track every price
We check competitor prices on a schedule set around your range and record every change with the date it was seen. The history builds from day one.
- 03
Make the right move
Match, hold or raise on every product, with the reason shown. Act on suggestions yourself or let them apply automatically. Never below the minimum sell prices you set.
What you see
Where your prices sit, and what to do about it.
Every product, every competitor, and a clear reason behind each suggestion.

Sale prices
Show a real sale price. Not none, not an inflated one.
Many retailers cut prices quietly, so shoppers never see the saving, or show a “was” price the product barely sold at. Perfect Competition uses your own price history to recommend a strike-through you can back up, and tells you when one isn’t supported yet.
- A “was” price based on what you actually charged. Recommended from your dated price history, not the RRP.
- Flags before a sale goes live. Overstated or unsupported strike-throughs are caught, with the reason.
- An evidence trail for every sale. The record behind each “was” price, ready if anyone asks.
Recommendations are designed around the ACCC’s guidance on was/now pricing. They’re general guidance, not legal advice.
Not your price at any point in the last 90 days.
Shoppers don’t see the $150 saving.
Your price for 62 of the last 90 days, including the 30 days before the sale.

Your data
We don’t need your costs.
Costs move, and rebates and supplier support change the real picture. So we don’t ask for them. You set the floor, and we work above it.
You set minimum sell prices
By product, brand or category. Suggestions never go below them, whatever the market does.
Your data stays yours
Your prices, minimums and sales are never shared with or used for another retailer.
Stored in Australia
Your data is held in Sydney. Start with a product list; connect more only when you want sharper suggestions.
Who it’s for
Built for big ranges and thin margins.
Specialist retailers
- Thousands of products, many sold by the same handful of competitors.
- Margins where $20 a unit adds up fast.
- A commercial or pricing team checking competitors by hand today, or paying for a tool that only shows the lowest price.
Smaller range?
We also run a lighter setup for retailers tracking a few hundred key products. Mention it in the audit form and we’ll size it to suit.
How do you get competitor prices?
We read the prices your competitors publish on their own websites and marketplace listings: the same prices any shopper can see.
Which competitors can you track?
Any Australian online retailer or marketplace that sells the same products you do. You tell us who matters, and we’ll flag others we find selling your key products.
Do you need my cost prices?
No. You set minimum sell prices by product or category, and we never recommend going below them. Costs, rebates and supplier support stay with you.
Will it change my prices automatically?
Only if you want it to. You can review every suggestion yourself, or let it match automatically on the products and rules you choose. Either way it never goes below your minimum sell prices.
How does the sale price advice work?
Before a promotion, we check each “was” price against your own dated price history and recommend one you can back up. If a strike-through isn’t supported yet, we tell you why and what would support it. It’s general guidance, not legal advice.
Do you need access to my systems?
Not to start. For the audit we need a product list with brands, model or part numbers and your current prices. Connecting your sales data later makes the recommendations sharper.
What do I get from the free audit?
We match your top products across your competitors, track them for two weeks and send you a short report: where you sit against each competitor, where you’re below the market without needing to be, where a sale price could be shown or is overstated, and which competitors move most.
What does it cost?
Pricing is set per retailer, based on how many products and competitors you track. The audit is free and there’s no obligation.
